Weather, wood and whinges February 1, 2008

Its grim (so they say) up north.  Its grim down here too if you ask me.  Yesterday the rain flooded the storm drains and all the old people had to drive even slower.  The coppers are still patrolling the beaches in case anyone pinches 50p’s worth of salt laden timber (they have had a helicopter out there for four days solid - environmental concerns are not really their thing obviously).  The vis is shot to hell and we decided not to bother with the Weymouth trip.

I suppose its par for the course in winter.  You can see why people go to Stoney (although not why you would queue up from 6am).  Clearly the answer is to put aside all thoughts of diving until the spring.  June maybe.  Or go somewhere warm, like the Red Sea, or the Canaries, or just put the kit on ebay and call it a day.  No, I’m convinced we will make a good dive in 2008.  Just not here.  Mind you it looks like I have to go back to London for work so we will not be “here” for much longer anyway I don’t think.  Haven’t been this fed up in years.
